The one-day agenda was developed based on facilitated engagement to collect feedback on the co-development of First Nations, Inuit, and Metis languages legislation and its’ content specific to geographic, political, legislative, and cultural contexts impacting language revitalization, recovery, preservation, protection, maintenance, and promotion.
The engagement sessions brought community leadership, members as well as, regional-based organizations, language experts and traditional knowledge keepers to lend their voices, to share concerns, ideas, direction and recommendations to inform the Indigenous languages legislation.
